This is how my weekend went:
Saturday:
Woke up bright and early
Ate breakfast at one of our favorite breakfast places
Did some window shopping for furniture and browsed Bed Bath & Beyond
Went home so Carter could nap
Picked up sandwiches from a new Italian Deli for lunch
Brought them to our favorite park and ate lunch with my parents
Let Carter run around the splash zone area and the playground
Momma and I went out for mani / pedi's and then grocery shopped for dinner
I made BBQ, homemade macaroni & cheese, and roasted broccoli for dinner at my parents house
Ate and then watched Lincoln Lawyer with the fam + Roxanne
Home around 11pm
Sunday
Up bright and early
Watched 'The Informant' in bed with the hubby
Went to a ladies brunch with some good friends + Carter
Home while Carter napped
Tried out a new park to get pictures of Carter for his 2nd birthday invites
Mom stopped by and we all relaxed under a tree while Carter played
Ordered take-out on the way home, and let Carter pick-out a new book at Barnes and Noble
Ate dinner and watched TRUE BLOOD
Uploaded pictures from the weekend and did some editing
Now blogging
I am looking forward to a photography workshop that I'm going to next Saturday!
I'm also ready for this next cycle - I'm bringing the big guns. I've got my BBT thermometer on my bedside table, a ton of cheapie ovulation predictor tests, and a stash of HPT's. It's a nice thought to think that IF we do catch that egg next cycle, I'm only 10ish days or so away from being pregnant again. That thought keeps me sane. What bums me out is that most of the women I knew that were pregnant when I was pregnant with Carter have had or are having their second child already. A few of them due next month when I was due. I know that I should be happy and grateful that I have at least one child (I totally am), but it's REALLY hard not be able to give Carter a sibling, and watch all these women around have a second child (some of who had their first a while after I did). I'm trying to not compare myself to anyone else. This is my family.
Sorry for my depressing rant. Here are some pictures from our weekend!

The Paper Mama Photo Challenge: Favorite of June
I love The Paper Mama's photo challenges!
This weeks challenge is "Your favorite of June."
I had three pictures I was trying to decide between, but I think this one has to be my favorite of June that I took on June 5th, 2011. The challenge requires that the picture be of your child or your fur-child.

My Best Shot: Carter
This is my first time entering one of The Paper Mama's Photo contests. I've followed her blog for a bit and thought this would be a fun one to join in on.
I love taking pictures of Carter so it's really hard for me to pick my favorite shot of him. But when I think about my favorite picture of him, my mind takes me back to this picture I took at a pumpkin patch late last year. The pumpkins, the straw, his shirt - it was so such a cute moment.

Mini Photo Session - Carter
It had been a while since I picked up my camera and shot some good ole' fashion pictures of Carter. I was kinda itching to get out and shoot, and damn it felt good. I'd love to get more training and learn more about this blooming hobby of mine. I took photo in high school and college, but that was back when camera's had actual film in them and you had to develop pictures yourself. How ancient is that?
I've always been the paparazzi friend my entire life and have had this nagging desire to photo journal everything. I remember going to a concert when I was 17 and taking 8 rolls of film in the nosebleed section of these tiny little specks (maybe people) on stage. There was seriously no point to those pictures. I also remember dressing my little brother up at 4 years old and putting him in all these model-esque poses and taking tons and tons of pictures of him. And don't get me started on all the pictures I took of my friends, AND myself. Oh geez.
I'd love to find a good class to take, or a mentor to learn from. I'll just add that to my massive to do list that never ends.
Anyways, before dinner tonight Andy, Carter and I walked to this dusty alley near our house and took some pictures. I love finding the most raw and rural setting, they make for the best pictures.
I don't want Sunday to end.

Wordless Wednesday

I guess I'll jump on the blogger bandwagon and do Wordless Wednesday, and instead of Picture Thursday do a "Glimpse Into the Life Thursday" where I document an average night in our household. I don't think I'll be able to do it every week. Tomorrow I'm taking a CSI work-out class (Cardio, Strength, Interval) and I have both my grandma's in town from Massachusetts as well as my mom's sister (Auntie Susan) and my cousin's son Angel. So I've got a busy two weeks ahead of me. I'm so looking forward to Thanksgiving. My dad and I are splitting cooking duties. Can't wait! Ok, so this isn't a very Wordless Wednesday so I'll stop now.

Day at the Farm
We had a wonderful day today at the Farm with my little family (Andy, Carter and Roxanne). Roxanne has been living here since April when she got out of a long-term relationship. I've known her since I was 11 or 12 years old; she is already family to me and we love having her around all the time. Carter walks around the house looking for "Ra, Ra." He climbs up the stairs and barges into her room going through each and every item she has. He loves make-up and beauty products. LOVES THEM. If you give him a make-up bag full of make-up he squeals with excitement and takes the time to investigate and touch each item. Roxanne has a few baskets full of beauty products and he knows exactly where they are. Her door is kept closed most of the time, but when by chance he finds it open, or he weasels his way in, he goes straight for those darn baskets. It's definitely cute but a problem. He is also obsessed with wallets. If my purse is open and low enough for him to reach, he'll pull out my wallet and then dismantle it by taking each credit card, store card, business card, you name it, he'll remove it. The other morning I walked downstairs on my way out to the office and found my wallet completely empty with the contents strewn about our house. Not one single item was still in it. Sigh. But that's my life now and I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
